François Libert has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 1985. Since 2023, he has been a visiting lecturer in business criminal law and professional ethics at the Haute Ecole Francisco Ferrer. He is also Vice-President of the Appeals Chamber established by the March 2019 decree on new cultural governance, within the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. He is a trustee of the Henri La Fontaine Foundation. He was a member of the High Council of Justice from 2008 to 2013 and from 2015 to 2016, and of the Institute for Judicial Training (2020–2025). He served as a director of Lawyers Without Borders World from 1998 to 2001.
